RBT Membership

This membership is recommended for RBTs, aspiring RBTs, and individuals interested in beginning or strengthening their professional development within the field of ABA.

Its purpose is to provide professional guidance, educational resources, ethical guidelines, regulatory updates, institutional communications, and training opportunities that support growth, preparation, and responsible practice.

APAA recognizes the importance of supporting those who provide or wish to provide direct ABA services by promoting solid training, ethical commitment, regulatory compliance, and a sense of professional belonging.

To participate, members must hold an active RBT credential, be in the process of obtaining it, or demonstrate an interest in training within the ABA field, accept APAA’s principles, comply with its code of conduct, and complete the corresponding membership payment when applicable.

BCBA / BCaBA Membership

This membership is recommended for BCBAs, BCaBAs, analysts in training, and professionals who wish to strengthen their clinical, ethical, supervisory, and organizational development within the field of ABA.

Its purpose is to provide professional guidance, educational resources, ethical guidelines, regulatory updates, institutional communications, and training opportunities that support responsible, evidence-based practice aligned with applicable standards.

APAA recognizes the importance of the role of analysts in clinical supervision, decision-making, documentation, treatment coordination, and advocating for the medical necessity of ABA services, while promoting professional leadership, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence.

To participate, members must hold an active BCBA or BCaBA credential, be in the process of obtaining one, or demonstrate advanced training in the field of ABA; they must also accept the principles of the APAA, comply with its code of conduct, and pay the applicable membership fee when required.

Membership for Agency Owners and Leaders

Designed for owners, chief executive officers, and administrators of ABA agencies. This membership provides strategic, regulatory, and organizational information, public policy analysis, collaborative work, and networking spaces aimed at strengthening the sector’s institutional advocacy before insurers and governmental entities. It also offers access to management, compliance, and business-strengthening tools, with a clear focus on sustainability and provider protection.

It also includes active participation in sector advocacy actions, access to technical and regulatory committees, best practice guidelines, general orientation regarding audits and administrative procedures, courses, training, professional updates, invitations to institutional events, and educational spaces aimed at strengthening ABA agencies. In addition, it provides greater visibility and positioning within the Alliance as part of an organized and professional front.

Benefits

Benefits include strategic support, public policy analysis, access to management and compliance tools, participation in technical and regulatory committees, best practice guidelines, informational support regarding audits and administrative processes, access to courses, training, sector updates, educational activities, and invitations to events promoted or supported by APAA, without constituting individualized legal advice.

To be eligible, the applicant must demonstrate a leadership role within a legally established ABA agency and alignment with the ethical, clinical, and regulatory standards promoted by APAA. Duties include responsible participation in the collective actions of the Alliance, respect for institutional decisions, ethical use of collective representation, and fulfillment of the established financial obligations.

Exclusive Membership for Agency Owners and Board Participants

This membership is designed for ABA agency owners who want to take a more active role within APAA and contribute to the collective strength, visibility, and sustainability of the ABA sector. It is intended for leaders who share APAA’s vision and are committed to advancing a stronger, more organized, and better-represented provider community.

This membership offers a higher level of institutional participation, strategic orientation, regulatory information, compliance resources, and access to support connected to the Alliance’s collective advocacy efforts. Members may receive direct or indirect legal support through the attorneys representing or assisting APAA, particularly in matters related to sector advocacy, regulatory challenges, insurer-related issues, administrative processes, and provider protection.

Benefits include participation in strategic committees, access to institutional planning spaces, early access to guides, official positions, compliance tools, provider defense resources, and coordinated support in complex situations involving insurers, governmental agencies, or regulatory matters. This membership also provides greater visibility and institutional positioning within APAA as part of a leading group of agencies committed to the collective defense and professional advancement of the ABA sector.

Members are expected to support APAA’s ethical, regulatory, and clinical principles, participate responsibly in the Alliance’s initiatives, use institutional representation appropriately, and maintain professional conduct that strengthens the credibility, unity, and purpose of the organization.

Honorary Membership

Conceived as an institutional distinction and not as an ordinary administrative or economic ordinary membership of administrative or economic participation.
